Great 1st Ballgame!

7th and 8th graders--

Excellent job last night! I've already gotten a lot of compliments (even from Dardanelle fans) about your performance. It was probably the smoothest "first game" the middle school band has ever had.

Next week, we WILL be on the field at halftime...bring your tennis shoes to band EVERY DAY from now on, until further notice. We don't need any broken/twisted/sprained ankles!

A few things to remember for games:

-Flip folders and lyres are REQUIRED. You can't play your part without them.

-The uniform is your band shirt, khaki colored PANTS (no shorts), white shoes, white socks, and a belt. Imagine what the football team would look like if they wore whatever they felt like wearing...

-Once we meet at 6:00 p.m., the concession stand is off-limits to you. If you need water, we'll get you some. Remember--we have burgers, chips, and drinks for you at halftime...and they are free!

Next game is Thursday, September 14! It's gonna be fun!

Mr. Coats,

I was really proud of the band last Thursday. I know you've heard this before, but...I wish there was some way the MS band, at least, could be closer to the fans. With everyone talking, it is really hard to hear the band sometimes. The cheerleaders don't even always know what you're playing until they stop and listen. I think the band is just SO IMPORTANT with their support and encouragement to the players and the fans.

Just a thought...Thanks for listening.

Kaity--

You have to be in band to go on the trip. If someone leaves at semester, they are no longer in band. No band=no trip.

Drums DO sound good!!!
