2006-2007 LMS Band T-Shirt Design

Here it is...hope you like it!

The top design is the back of the shirt, and the bottom is the left pocket design (no, there will not be pockets on the shirt).

The purple on the actual shirts will be a little bit darker, more of a "deep purple" than a "grape purple."

It's a bit "retro," as Mr. Mailer (percussion instructor and the designer of the shirt) says.

We should have these by Thursday, 9/5/06 (Game Day for 7th and 8th graders).

Did you practice "Itsy" AND how to post on the blog

Hello everyone!

1st off, did you practice "Itsy..." to the point that you can play it slowly and right? Please reply when you have practiced and can play it right.

Now, about posting...everyone should have an easier time now, as anyone can post. You no longer have to register to reply to the blog. If you are still having problems, please let me know at school and we'll figure it out.

Lets get 100% of the class to practice and post! Call a friend and ask if they did it today!!!

1st week of school is over

Hello!

The 1st week of school is over and done with!

The 7th and 8th grade band is off to a great start. Make sure you are practicing the show music (Itsy Bitsy and Another Saturday Night) at home so that we will be ready for the first game (Sept. 7).

Beginner Band is also doing well...we are reviewing the fundamentals of music and getting new students assigned to instruments. We will get going on instruments very soon.

A few announcements/reminders:

1. Handbook forms and information forms are now due for 6th-8th grade students. T-shirt money ($15) is due by August 31; please get it turned in quickly so that we can order shirts.

2. 7th and 8th graders will begin after-school sectional rehearsals starting Monday, August 28.
The schedule is: Mondays-all woodwinds except tenor saxophone; Tuesdays-all brass players and tenor saxophone; Thursdays-all percussion. Remember, these are required, graded rehearsals--please be there!

3. Jazz Band will start Wednesday, August 30. If you are interested, please attend. We will rehearse from 3:15-4:30.

4. All-region music for 8th graders will be given out soon. Please practice this at home, as we will have rehearsals on the music a few weeks after you receive it.

Thanks for a great week so far!
